Today is a very sad day for the traditional Cuban music, our Community Sociocultural Project “Legendarios del Guajirito” is mourning due to the physical absence of José Couto, “Pepito, el Bocuco”.
The generations who heard him singing in the iunforgettable Conjunto Pacho Alonso and his Bocucos, the visitors who every night got delighted with his energy, his vitality and impeccable voice at the age of 85, those who, onboard a cruise in our beautiful Bay of Havana, in a distant Cay of this beautiful island, or those who in the paradisiacal Varadero, and even in our main venue El Guajirito danced rhythmically with his charisma and youth, all of them will miss him, but everyone took back home the satisfaction of having shared happiness, love and Cubanness with one of the greatest legends of Cuban Traditional Music.
His voice and contagious joy will continue to encourage us for generations, and every night, legendary musicians will be inspired by him on our stages since his example for the youth, is a shining star in the sky.
Rest in peace Pepito, while Legendarios Guajirito exists, or is heard Son, boleros and Cha cha cha we will look at the sky, because there your star will shine with us and for all Cubans.
May God keeps you in the glory and surely paradise will be more fun with you there.
